The fonts are already installed there. I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

No, the fonts are on the hard drive, but they're not installed. Installed means programs actually have access to them through fontconfig.

I don't know why this bug was marked as Triaged, I'm not sure the misunderstanding has been cleared and it is not even clear that the bug can be confirmed by someone else.

There clearly is a difference between fonts being on the hard drive and usable by lilypond and the same fonts being installed so that they are also usable in other apps such as Lyx, Ooffice, scribus etc. They have not been installed, in this sense, on my system (Ubuntu 9.04, lilypond 2.12.1-0ubuntu1). Whether you consider this to be a bug is debateable. Some people might not like extra fonts that they will never use cluttering up their font lists. It is quite easy to install them by hand but it would be kind of nice if automatic installation were an option.
