Bug Description
Hello Kovid,
Following a reinstalment of Win10. A member of a forum that I attend, encounter a problem in the use of calibre, the problem occurs when he records a book of his library on his hard drive. If I have the good information ;)

The underlying error is hidden by an unrelated encoding error in the
error messaging code. I have fixed the encoding error, so after the next
release, the person should get a more useful error message.
