Provide a tool to easily resize artboard

Please provide a tool to easily resize the artboard by drawing, similar in function to the artboard tool in Illustrator

Menu: Edit>Resize page to drawing or selection. (Shift+Ctrl+R)

Yes I've seen this, its great to be able to snap the dartboards to objects but I want to be able to be able to redraw the artboard freehand as well like I can do in Illustrator.

Might help if you add a screencast of what you have in mind.

I have no idea how that feature should look and from you description it does not seem very intuitive to me, but maybe I'm wrong and this would make a nice feature request.

Also try to stick with Inkscape terminology: As an example I have no idea what an "artboard" is (it does not even seem to be an English word either), so I can only guess you mean "canvas".
