Bug Description

When I download Linux 64-bit and Source Invariant tarballs and build the latter from source I see difference in built versions of linker.

Linux 64-bit tarball contains ld of version "7-2017-q4-major 2.29.51.20171128"

While ld built from Source Invariant tarball is version "7-2018-q1-update 2.29.51.20171128"

Is there a possibility that Invariant build downloads newer version from the Internet?

Hi Pavol,

The scrips determine the quarter and year of the release based on the date of the build to avoid us having to remember to update it at each release. The rest of the version is identical (2.29.51.20171128) which means the built version is the same as the one from the binary tarball. I agree we should improve this.

Best regards.

How is it possible I get different linker layouts when I use linker from prebuilt tarball and linker built from source invariant tarball?
