mythweb fails with You are missing a php extension for mysql interaction. Please install php-mysqli

Bug Description

After upgrading to Ubuntu-17.10, mythweb did not run, and had the following error message:

You are missing a php extension for mysql interaction. Please install php-mysqli

Eventually, I moved to

add-apt-repository ppa:mythbuntu/30

and still had to remove php7.0 packages:

    sudo aptitude remove php7.0

After this step, and restarting apache2

   systemctl restart apache2

mythweb works again
