kernel crash on first boot

Bug Description

Just installed 16.04 on Parallels, went through the normal installation process. It restarted when it finished and I believe it crash while booting. It just keeps on going through this loop every time I restart. I typed in multiple characters and it shows up on the screen...

First off, this has nothing to do with the Code of Conduct. Please only file bugs against this project for the purposes of dealing with that particular document.

Secondly, 16.04 has been deployed on a wide variety of environments, both virtual and otherwise for about 9 months. That said, I don't think that this is likely a common problem, but something specific to your particular situation. It may not even be a bug at all. Perhaps you did not verify the hashes of your image. Or perhaps there'a bug in Parallels or some requirement it has in order to properly boot.

I would suggest seeking support, either in general from Ubuntu (AskUbuntu, Ubuntu Forums, mailing list, IRC) and/or contacting Parallels support.
