Bug Description

If you try to uninstall Steam using Ubuntu Software, only the steam-installer metapackage is removed, not the actual steam package. This issue is caused by GNOME Software that unfortunately does not support uninstallation of unneeded dependencies. It would be great if this issue could be somehow workarounded.

Thanks for your report. Unfortunately there is no way for gnome-software to know what a third party installer installed, and it's the responsibility of the installer to remove what it installed on the system.
I'm closing gnome-software task. Your request is still valid though for the steam installer.
