SCANBD daemon crashes when usb scanner unplugged

Bug Description

scanbd exits with a segfault. Here an extract from syslog

Jan 3 09:23:49 server scanbd: /usr/sbin/scanbd: dbus match type='signal',interface='org.freedesktop.Hal.Manager'

Jan 3 10:54:15 server systemd[1]: scanbd.service: Main process exited, code=killed, status=11/SEGV
Jan 3 10:54:15 server systemd[1]: scanbd.service: Unit entered failed state.
Jan 3 10:54:15 server systemd[1]: scanbd.service: Failed with result 'signal'.

I'm using scanbd package version 1.4.1-8 on ubuntu 16.04 server installation.

That's a known problem that was fixed upstream. But I think it still affects the version in artful.

Do you know how to compile a package for yourself, from a dsc-file?
