Bug Description

When doing a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10 I notice that the installer didn't detect my wired ethernet correctly. I went through with the installation and I could still not connect to the internet. In the network settings I found that the MAC address was incorrect. It was set to ED:0B:00:00:E0:00 which is not the correct MAC address. My previous installation of Ubuntu 16.04 could find the correct MAC address automatically.

I tried setting the correct MAC address in the network settings but that made the wired connection disappear from the network settings altogether.

My work around is to run the following commands at boot time:

ip link set dev enp6s0 address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
ip link set dev enp6s0 up

(xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is my correct MAC address)
