Bug Description
When attempting to delete an empty directory, gthumb pointlessly pops up a confirmation dialog asking "Are you sure you want to permanently delete [the folder]? If you delete a file, it will be permanently lost." In addition to wasting the user's time, this is also dangerous, because it conditions the user to always confirm such dialogs: it causes users to fail to notice REAL warnings when they happen. It is similar to a false alarm. In healthcare, this phenomenon is known as "alarm fatigue", and is well documented as being dangerous:

If the directory is already empty when the user tries to delete it, then gthumb should not issue a confirmation dialog.
Tested on gthumb version 3.4.3
