Bug Description

Is it possible to make homebank HiDPI aware? I'm using it on a Mac and really like it, but it looks a bit blurry. AFAIK GTK+3 is able to draw most widgets in a HiDPI mode which would be sufficient for Retina displays.

I'm not a GTK developer but if you need a tester on a Mac, I would be glad to be of help.

Thanks,
Michael

You can try this, as GTK+ 3 support it natively:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HiDPI#GDK_3_.28GTK.2B_3.29
and provide feedback and screenshot if successful :)

Note that some icons will scale and so become blurry, until I provide some scalable set (in progress).

This is weird. Using the env variables homebank looks as good as before. The buttons and fonts are all rendered in high quality. I must have been tricked by the blurry icons on the buttons. They remain the same except a few that are already available in a higher resolution it seems.

So I guess you have nothing to do to support HiDPI screens and I was mistaken. Sorry about that and thanks again for the great software.

I did some test too, using the https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GTK+/Inspector but with my only 1920x1080 screen it is not HiDPi

For icons, those from the system (new/load/save) might be scaled well as it is not .png but .svg or higher resolution are available, I did only graph icons in 32x32 png pixels so far.

can you share a screen, for me to have a look of what the render is ?

That's exactly as you say. The first three look good, the others a little blurry.
