firefox is slow and doesn't respond, especially during flash work

Noticed browsing is slow, especially websites such as the BBC's children's website CBeebies, which has flash games. However, noticed with a number of websites, system pauses, for example if you try to scroll.

please check if starting firefox from the command line like:

 MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1 firefox

gives you a better performance,
