Bluetooth module doesn't work properly

Bluetooth on Thinkpad X1C (5th gen) in Ubuntu 4.13.0-17.20-generic 4.13.8
 with Cinnamon DE
- adapter can be seen
- devices can be added
- can connect to some devices (phone)
- can't use the devices (transfer files, audio source)
- can't connect to some devices (speakers)

I'm able to initialize sending files to/from my phone, but the transfer fails.
I'm able to pair notebook with SRS-X11 speakers, but connection effor fails after asking for PIN (it is 0000 for the speakers).

Using blueman as a manager.

Adapter works fine in windows.

Let me know if any other logs/outputs are needed.

Forgot to mention that I'm able to connect to both phone and speakers using an external usb bt adapter. It's inconvenient though.

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.15 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

With 4.15.0-041500rc2.201712031230 the speakers start playing for ca 2 seconds, then the playback source (youtube/soundcloud) fails. I need to disconnect the device to be able to play sound again from internal speakers. Attaching syslog.

And to answer your question - it is a fresh install on a new machine, didn't work before.

Yes! BT worked fine when wi-fi was turned off. The workaround helps fix it. Thanks everyone!
