Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The Hardy Heron Alpha series was recently released. Alpha2 and subsequent releases contain an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/ . Please note that Alpha3 will be released within the next day or two so you many want to wait. You should be able to then test this bug with the new kernel on the LiveCD. If you can, please verify if this bug still exists or not and report back your results. General information regarding the release can also be found here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks!

I tried to install HH alpha 2. It installed ok but was unable to update. 208 updates available, partial update failed. I also couldn't configure wireless. No option for security type or DHCP.

I'll try alpha 3 when it's available.

I tried HH alpha 3 and it behaved exactly the same as alpha2. live cd loads, seems to work. "error communicationg with backend". can't figure out partial update. I tried suspend and it would not come back.

I just tried Hardy Alpha 4. Update manager works. wireless works with wpa. Suspend works, but no wireless on resume. Hibernate immediately resumes to password screen.

If you want me to send any attachments let me know

I had Hardy final release on the Toshiba and I believe everything finally worked, but I haven't had the computer for a while.
