QLubuntu - Default File Format blanks and always comes up .png

For Lubuntu Next 17.10:

As many times as I change the default file format to .jpg,
it is always blank when go back into Options (screenshot1),
and always comes up .png when I go to save a screenshot (screenshot2).

I can change the file format to .jpg, and it will be saved with that suffix,
but I need to re-select the format every time I save.

This is despite the fact that there is a line in /home/scott/.config/screengrab/screengrab.conf
that reads "defImgFormat=jpg"

The user config should work fine, once set to jpg - for the depth of the problem just follow the debian bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=893809 - that will lead you to the relevant upstream things.

To make it short: 1.97 will not be fixed unless someone stand up and spend time on dead code. The upcoming screengrab release will fix the most of the long standing issues, but not all - it is still work in progress. But i'm dead sure that 18.10 will see a major overhauled screengrab.
