Log in error message - ibus-daemon: No such file

Bug Description

Ubuntu Mate 17.10. Samsung NC10 netbook. Intel Atom (32-bit). 1GB RAM.
Logging in to Mate desktop I get an error message:

Error found when loading /etc/profile:
/usr/share/im-config/data/21_ibus.rc: line 6: /usr/bin/ibus-daemon: No such file or directory.

This installation was updated from 16.04 to 17.04 then to 17.10.

Ubuntu MATE doesn't use ibus or install ibus. Please uninstall ibus-daemon.

I cannot find a package called ibus-daemon (or anything that contains "ibus" and daemon").

I had the same problem today, after change from Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 to Ubuntu Mate 18.04
As Mate isn't use ibus, you just have to open language window and change input method to XIM. Problem solved!

Btw, restart the session after change input method.
