Thanks for your report, Do you have problems only with that pdf file? Did you try to print a small image with eog? does that works?, thanks.

I can print other pdfs normally. I tried printing a 13K 320x240 pixel jpg with eog and that worked.

It works for me with evince on Ubuntu 7.10, though it takes quite some time until it appears in the printer queue. I'm using the "Foomatic/ljet4" driver. However, I have a HP Laserjet 5P (without the M) so isn't exactly the same printer.

What printer driver are you using? You can get this information from the "Printing" program in the System->Administration menu. The driver name is displayed after the printer name, to the right to "Make and model". Maybe you could try the "Foomatic/ljet4" driver that I'm using.

I was using the Laserjet 5MP Postscript driver. Looks like the "Foomatic/ljet4 Laserjet 5P" driver works. I wonder if the Postscript driver is trying to print at a higher resolution and running out of memory.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
