Bug Description

My Dell 2005FPW wide-aspect monitor has a resolution of 1680x1050 by default,
but Ubuntu does not detect this by default. There is also no way to set the
resolution with a GUI tool (choices are limited to the conventional "square"
ratios).

Please attach /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log; this should work fine.

Sounds like this is a problem with nVidia's mode validation: we have that
modeline defined for normal drivers.
