Keyboard shortcuts stop working; restarting unity-settings-daemon fixes them

At random times, many keyboard shortcuts and special keys such as the following stop working:
- volume up/down/mute keys
- PrintScreen key and shift+PrintScreen shortcut
- Ctrl+Alt+T for terminal

and probably others. There are shortcuts that keep working, such as Alt+Tab, and if I remember correctly also Ctrl+Super+D.

This happens quite rarely.

UNLIKE #1459571, which is (supposed to be) fixed, restarting unity-settings-daemon does help, meaning it makes the shortcuts and keys work again as expected.

Did you paste the wrong issue number?
Unless you have some reason to think the underlying cause of these two apparently unrelated issue is the same, what 1245473 describes doesn't even remotely resemble this issue.
