  I recently did and update (sudo apt-get update / sudo apt-get upgrade). A few days later I did a
  reboot and my touchpad stopped working. The touchpad does not appear to show in devices (cat
  /proc/bus/input/devices), but my external usb mouse does. Perhaps a recent update in the kernel
  has caused this issue.
