Bug Description

Zooming using touchpad has stopped working after recent system upgrade. Zooming using buttons in the bottom right corner still works.

By the way, keyboard shortcuts work for zooming out (Ctrl -), but not for zooming in (Ctrl +)

On 16.04 I have zoom working in all described situations; touchpad (two fingers), keyboard (ctrl+(+/-)). UI buttons and scrollwheel on mouse also works for me.

For the keyboard shortcut, are you maybe having another application bound to ctrl++?

On my 16.04 system I've got these versions installed of package and main dependency for the map (libosmgpsmap) (https://github.com/nzjrs/osm-gps-map):

$ dpkg -l|grep gpxviewer
ii gpxviewer 0.5.2-1 all views GPS traces collected in the GPX format

$ dpkg -l|grep osmgpsmap
ii gir1.2-osmgpsmap-1.0 1.1.0-1 amd64 GTK+ library to embed OpenStreetMap maps - Python bindings
ii libosmgpsmap-1.0-1:amd64 1.1.0-1 amd64 GTK+ library to embed OpenStreetMap maps

$ lsb_release -a

The repository seems to carry the exact same versions for xenial (16.04) and artful (17.10):

I haven't been using GPX Viewer for a while, but I've just checked it, and everything works now again. I believe that there was an issue in Ubuntu, which is already fixed now.

However zooming using keyboard doesn't work as expected. Instead of pressing Ctrl+Plus I have to press Ctrl+Shift+Plus to zoom in. Almost all common applications do not require pressing shift key for zooming in, as it is more intuitive and convenient when switching from zooming in to zooming out and vice versa. This has been for a long time already according to the link http://www.zeigen.com/shortcuts/2007/04/02/font-size-firefox/ Nautilus, Firefox, Sublime Text and Evolution are using this approach to name a few.
