Bug Description

When using the "Indicator Applet Complete" Dropbox is not loaded in correctly. It shows a "filler" icon with no access to the menu. This command fixes the problem, but has to be run at startup every time

dropbox stop && dbus-launch dropbox start

Additionally, using the "notification area" as part of a custom desktop layout has caused an issue. After a system restart it doesn't display any icons, unless it's used as part of the Traditional desktop layout in the Tweak tool.

One thing I should add in regards to Dropbox is that I had to install dropbox-nautilus rather than dropbox-caja. Dropbox-caja could not install and run properly. I apologise that I can't remember the specific error but I do know that installing dropbox-nautilus instead fixed it.

This bug was fixed in the package caja-dropbox - 1.20.0-1ubuntu0

---------------
caja-dropbox (1.20.0-1ubuntu0) bionic; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches:
+ Drop 2003_execute_via_dbus_launch.patch. It doesn't work as intended.
    + Add 2003_fake_xdg_current_desktop.patch. Coerce XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP to
ensure indicator icons and menus work. (LP: #1559249, #1729482)

Dear Martin!

Could you please clarify which bug you fixed:

1. `caja-dropbox autostart y` (see description and steps to reproduce -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1604439 )?

or

2. empty menu drop-down dropbox menu (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1751451 )?

Currently there is no fix for Xenial and Artful, right?

I tested new package version 1.20.0-1ubuntu0 on clean user profile on Bionic:
caja-dropbox still does not autostart on MATE DE. But drop-down menu is shown.

Running

sudo apt-get install libappindicator1

and reboot will fix the issue.
