Sometimes they start at the correct size at last close.
To reproduce: open {aisleriot|firefox|thunderbird} change size to not full screen.
Close {aisleriot|firefox|thunderbird}
Open {aisleriot|firefox|thunderbird}
Result: {aisleriot|firefox|thunderbird} is full screen
Expected result: {aisleriot|firefox|thunderbird} is same size as when closed.

I see that this is by design, gnome project calls it "automaximize"
There are some people like me, complaining that we can no longer have
3/4 screen windows, gnome always maximizes them to full screen now.
The project does not seem to care too much.
