Terminator Icon invalid in the dock bar/alt-tab

I updated ubuntu gnome from 17.04 to 17.10, with gnome 3.26. I'm using terminator

When doing alt-tab, the terminator icon doesn't show up, instead we see a default icon with a question mark.

Moreover, we can't switch between windows of terminator as we can with other applications (using alt - tilde).

I reported this bug in terminator bug tracker : https://bugs.launchpad.net/terminator/+bug/1726525, and the author says it's due to the package that removes the terminator.wrapper file

Yeah, and then that gets pulled into Ubuntu, because they mostly use Debian packages. So it probably needs to be raised with Debian. Not sure that when this patch was applied they actually understood the reason for adding the wrapper.

Unfortunately I made a mistake in the release notes by not linking back to the bug #1067287 in the Changelog entry:

    * Adjustment to the way alternatives are set up that should cure
      blurry/incorrect icons in task switchers

Any update on this ? I still get the blurry icon when I use terminator on ubuntu (16.04 currently)
