Wifi Connnection Times Out

Bug Description

Upon upgrading to Ubuntu Budgie 17.10, my wifi connection has consistently timed out after a couple minutes of usage.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.14 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

I have had almost identical behavior with a completely different wifi setup. My card is the following:

3a:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter (rev 32)

And FWIW, I did try the generic upstream kernel. Exact same behavior.
