3)
I expected a clean upgrade from LO 5.4.1~rc2 to 5.4.2~rc2

4)
The packages
* libreoffice-calc
* libreoffice-common
both provide
/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/pagein-calc
which causes problems for the upgrade.
Similar issues happen with the packages
* libreoffice-impress
* libreoffice-draw

Is this still valid with the latest update (5.4.5) in that PPA?

Last month I upgraded to 5.4.5 and did not notice any problems, so I would say no, it is no longer valid.
