Unable to show files on MTP connection

Opening "Samsung_Android\Card\DCIM\Camera" folder with many images gets stuck at "Loading..." and never shows anything. I have waited 10 minutes. There is no error and not a single icon shows.

Any news here? I'm experiencing the same issue. Opening directory with 150 files takes half a minute. Opening directory with 3000 files is something endless. Ubuntu 17.10 and 2 Android devices Galaxy S7.
