Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Also having the image you're trying to see would be really helpful, thanks!.

Thanks, Pedro, for you quick response. I have attached one of over
10,000 wmf files that would render in Feisty correctly. There is nothing
special about how to go about this, click on the fake thumbnail in the
program window... I have three installs of Gutsy, two 64-bit, one
32-bit. All do the same in gThumb and Nautilus.

Steps, load OS, run Nautilus, go to folder that contains some wmfs and
click on one of them. Nothing but a black screen.

If you wish more info, please let me know.

Regards and thanks again,
tanzen

Here one of thousands of WMF files I have that rendered correctly, as thumbnails and full screen imgaes under Feisty, but not under Gutsy.

Thanks for all the work you do to make Ubuntu what it is: a great OS.

Sopmething that might be of help, GIMP does render WMFs. I cannot find anything that handles the image/x-wmf filetype. A look into what Feisty has for such might help.
