Bug Description

It would be really useful to limit the selection of the objects to the only
one that exists inside the working group, and forbid the selection of
objects outside.

There is a behavior that is really annoying for the moment. If I enter
inside a group to edit its objects, and if, for example, there is an
underlying background belonging to the parent group, you can easily (but
unintentionally) go automatically back into the parent group if you click
on the background instead of clicking the object you wanted to select.

The only quick fix that I could find to get round this problem is to set
the backgrounds as "insensitive", but this is generally not a selection as
you often have to modify this element at another time, and then you always
pass time switching on and off the (in)sensitive states of several
objects...

Well, more generally speaking, I think that when you are working inside a
group, you means it, and there shouldn't be non-explicit (nor automatic)
way to go outside it. Well, at least it would be very usefull to have at
least an option that would forbid all operations that would lead to an
automatic switch to parent groups (except explicit operation "select the
parent group", I mean)

Thank you :)

In LibreOffice Impress, when you enter a group, the rest of the drawing is temporarily "greyed out". Apart from the functionality requested above (with which I agree), this could add an intuitive and handy visual representation of the fact a group was entered.
