You don't mention what version of Terminator. I have a laptop with HiDPI and Terminator 1.91 (the latest gtk3 version) is fully HiDPI compatible. It even does the right thing when I hot plug and switch to a LoDPI external monitor.

So I suspect you are using 1.0 which is the old unmaintained gtk2 version. I'm pretty sure gtk2 cannot handle HiDPI.

I'm was using 1.91

I had to export this variables to gtk use the dpi of my screen

export GDK_SCALE=2
export GDK_DPI_SCALE=0.9

So now looks great

Just for my clarity/info, which desktop are you running under? At least under Unity (Ubuntu) it switches automatically as I swap between Hi and Lo DPI. Do you have this problem with other gtk3 based applications, or just Terminator?

I'm using archlinux with i3, and this happened with all gtk3 applications.
