Width of Undo History palette could be optimized

Bug Description

Currently width of Undo History palette is comparatively large due to width
of (translated) text. This could be okay for hi-res display, but on usual
1280 x something and 1024 x something ones, which are most used in the
world, keeping the palette opened all the time is not much fun.

It looks like it is possible to make a dialog where main text would be
ellipsized, so that the palette could be narrower:

Could you possibly investigate this and implement in Inkscape?

Jon, do we need some logic like restricting palettes to a max of 50% available screen real estate or some such to account for this?

Patch to make the minimum width of the Undo History smaller.
Description text is ellipsized if too long.
Dialog can still be resized larger to see all text.
Side-effect is that the count column has to be moved before the description.

1) Due to the rearrangement of the columns (expander of grouped events is now in the left-most column), I find it harder to know which events are actually grouped when expanding the entry (see attached screenshot).

2) To be discussed: do we really need to show icons for certain actions? Apparently only those from gtk-icon-theme are used, but none of Inkscape's internal icons…

Apologies, mistakenly moved the expander column, should be reverted in this patch.

Will take a look at why the Inkscape icons are missing.

Probably better tracked in a separate report - testing with older releases, Inkscape's internal icons are visible in the undo dialog in Inkscape 0.46, but no longer in 0.47 and later versions.

Possibly related to other places where Inkscape's own icons don't show, as e.g. described here:
