Bug Description

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Inkscape 0.92.2

EPS settings:
Text output options: Embed Fonts
Rasterise filter effects: Checked
Resolution for rasterisation dpi: 90
output page size: Use exported objects size
Bleed/margin(mm): 0
Limit export to the object with ID: blank

When saving an eps with embed fonts. Text boxes on top of any other item results in the text not appearing in the eps.

I have tried putting text into different layers as well as ungrouping various objects, nothing seems to work.

So the eps does have the text, visually, but there is no (t1) or (t2) in the .eps file when opened with gedit. This, as I have come to learn prevents psfrag from picking up the text.

Also your file does not contain the (t1) and (t2) texts.

So I have uploaded test2.svg. This contains text outside the drawn objects. On my side, the eps file have [(te)17(xt)] on line 213 [will upload shortly], which is what psfrag uses. For some reason, it's now adding a 17, not sure why. However, there is no (t1) or (t2).

it looks like you are trying to output to Latex. If that is the case then you might want to try the option that says "Omit text in pdf and create Latex file". Unfortunately, I do not know enough about Latex to be able to help you with that option.

Yes I am, but the underlying problem is with the eps file, not latex. The Omit text in pdf and create Latex file is also not working.
