Impossible to switch to headphones in sound settings dialog

Bug Description

Sound settings dialog, which is opened by the sound icon on the cinnamon toolbar, doesn't allow to switch output between speakers and headphones.

The screenshot shows the deafult dialog at right and pavucontrol window at left.

In pavucontrol I can choose the output for built-in audio device from the drop-down list. In default dialog available in Linux Mint there is no such possibility.

As a result without installing pavucontrol I can't use headphones at all!

Automatic detection of headphones insertion doesn't work in my system, but this is another story. In any case it is necessary to have manual control over sound output even if automatic detection works properly.
