File Transfer progress indicator would not go away

I use stock Ubuntu 16.04 with Unity. Since some time I have been noticing that the file transfer indicator on launcher icon for Nautilus won't go away ( even if file transfer is complete )

The icon indicator gives an idea that there is still file transfer in progress, while there is none. I could see the progress indicator across various icon theme. For eg. in Unity Icon Theme, Papirus Icon Theme.

If I remember correctly, it's been there since Sept 2016 ( at the least ).

It would be great if you guys can fix it.

PS: I tried the commands you gave for a good bug report.I couldn't get any output on the terminal for those commands. Just to be clear, I have latest updates installed.

A old nautilus bug, fixed in new version.

I am sorry. I can still see it in fully updated 16.04.

Thanks but the copy icon in the toolbar is not present in the 16.04 nautilus version, could you check what package you are using exactly? (dpkg -l | grep nautilus)

I see. I upgraded from 14.04 in 16/09
