Bug Description
Please, I would like to kindly ask you to add support
for exporting xfig files (.fig), as they are quite
common with people that use LaTeX document.
This would allow a greater employment of inkscape at
the site where I teach.
Thanks in advance, Rogério Brito.

Inkscape is primarily an SVG Editor, and PDF is the defacto
standard for printing. All other formats have a much lower
priority but would certainly be nice to have.
There are several extensions for Inkscape on Unix like
operating which combine Inkscape and other applictions to
give FIG export. Since such a major workaround exists the
chances of native built in fig support are extremely small.
Of course if a developer were to contribute patches they
would be very welcome.

I believe there are other tricks for converting Inkscape SVG
into EPS or other formats which can also be combined with
LaTeX. Certainly if LaTeX is what you are really interested
in then you need not limit yourself to the fig file format.
