Repositioning of apps animation in Ubuntu dock (dash to dock) feels cumbersome

It would be great, if the new Ubuntu dock for the Gnome shell would inherit some elements from unity 7/8's dock, one of those should be animation, when you reposition an app in the dock (drag&drop app icon --> white dot appears at the new app icon position...) That animation just feels so cumbersome, especially when you drop the icon to the new position.
