simple-scan does not communicate with scanner, also it is found with "lsusb" and "scanimage -L"

Bug Description

It seems simple-scan can no longer communicate with my scanner, although it was able to scan with the same hardware before. The hardware is found, but simple-scan reports communication errors. The hardware itself works.
