Bug Description

Hi, actually I create a new homepage with INKSCAPE. I
mean I create the complete desing thith it, then I
export the grafik´s so that I can use them in HTML
code.

It works nice thith "Opera", "Firefox" and other
browsers but not with the fu... IE, damm.

So, if I can export the grafik´s in "gif" it would be
work with the IE to, can you handel this?

Gif is a good format for small files and it support
transparency. I think it makes INKSCAPE more
interesting for web desing if you can export opjekts
as gif.

Sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand what I
mean.

Internet Explorer is horribly broken.

I would recommend using PNG
or an external program to convert PNG to GIF
In Opera and Mozilla you even have the possibility of using
SVG.

GIF support is beyond the scope of a Vector Graphics
project. Given the licensing issues surrounding GIF it is
unlikely the inkscape developers will implement support for
it.

If Gif support was implemented by an external library and
integrated with gdkpixbuf then all GTK applications which
properly implemented gdkpixbuf support so really that is the
best place to put such a feature.

A developer interested in doing this could probably start by
taking the gif support in the gimp and making it work with
gdkpixbuf.
