Bug Description
Feature to crop bitmaps from within Inkscape.
Firing up The Gimp just to crop a bitmap, saving, and
re-importing is really annoying, especially since
Inkscape is so blazingly fast but, while I love The
Gimp, it isn't.
This is somewhat related to feature request 1511332
(mask bitmap by vector drawing), which I would also
like to see, but this is different in that it's a
request for just a simple cropping tool.
To post a comment you must log in.
1. Change bitmap into pattern (select bitmap, and press
ALT+I = object to pattern, you find this in Object/Pattern/
menu)
2. Now you can crop simply by distorting the object.
This is actually way more powerfull than crop. It allows you
to "crop" in practically any desired shape.
