Make error messages show in the main window

Bug Description

Currently, when synaptic spits out an error, it opens another window. However,
this window opens in the current virtual desktop, which is sometimes not the
synaptic one. This causes 2 problems:

1. The window doesn't show the taskbar and thus cannot be selected
2. Synaptic appears frozen while it waits for the (hidden) window to be clicked

Thanks for your bugreport.

Does it happen for all error windows? Or only for particular types of errors?

The default error dialog is of type GtkMessageDialog with a correct parent. If
there is something wrong with that it's most likely a window-manager problem. It
may be a problem for specific dialogs though.

thanks,
 Michael

The issue is probably a general GTK one, as it doesn't keep the windows in the
same virtual desktop.

Take a look at the new stuff that is emerging from the gedit people. They have
some work in their newmdi branch.
