visualize first node of a subpath

Bug Description
It'd be great if there were some visual indication for
the first vertex of a path, so one knows where a cyclic
path begins, and if the first vertex could be changed
easily (currently as a workaround, one needs to open
the path temporarily at the desired vertex and close it
again).
