Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Ubuntu 17.10.
2. Install gkdebconf package
3. Try to use gkdebconf
4. Click on any package inside "Select package" group, click "Configure".
5. Get error message

Failed to run /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure -fgnome unattended-upgrades as user root.

Unable to copy the user's Xauthorization file.

Expected results:
User is able to use gkdebconf as root

Actual results:
User is unable to use gkdebconf as root
