Bug Description

Installed snap applications are not showing in Application dash and /snap/bin is not in $PATH

Description: Ubuntu Artful Aardvark
Release: 17.10

Test Case
1. Install any snap with snap install or Gnome Software
2. Launch application from Application dash or the command line with the name of the command

Expected Result
It runs

Actual Result
Can' see the application in the Application list and/or command not found: <snap-name>

affects: ubuntu-terminal-app (Ubuntu) → desktop

@Fredrik: is this still an issue with the released 17.10 ? Or in the upcoming 18.04 ?

No at least not in 18.04, 17.10 i wouldn't know, but I had the same problem in the beginning of 18.04 but it seams to have resolved it self :D
