Bug Description

At first thank you very much for this great and powerful software - you're

doing a very good job!

A feature I am missing in inkscape is the following:

I have inserted a bitmap image in an inkscape drawing.

It would be great, if I could adjust brightness and contrast of this
embedded image directly in inkscape.

Furthermore, I would appreciate being able to crop an embedded image (
directly with inkscape.

Kind regards

Martin

For croping image check Tips and Tricks in Inkscape's Help
menu. You have to change picture into Pattern and then you
can do something pretty much the same as croping. The only
difference is, that this is even more powerful than standard
crop function.

Read that Tips and Tricks part. It's really useful.

Brightness and contrast adjustment *could* be done via some LittleCMS
calls.
I'm not sure if it *should*, but it could. It comes down to a question of
good
workflow for end users probably

@ joncruz
Thanks for your answer. In my opinion it would be useful to be able to
adjust
an those image features directly in inkscape, if not, there should at
least be a
way to embed an image linked to a file, so that changing the original
image
file also changes the embedded image in inkscape (or does this feature
alread
exist?).

@nobody
Thank you very much for this great tip!
So my 2nd wish is already fulfilled. :-)

Kind regards, Martin

By default embedded images are linked, so they remain
independent files which you can edit. As for general color
adjustments of objects, there's another RFE on that.
