Can't launch gnome shell anymore. I go into a login loop

OK, I fixed this by doing:

gsettings reset-recursively org.gnome.shell.extensions
gsettings reset-recursively org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock
rm -rf ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions

I suspect this is pointing at the wrong bug. We can't tell without a detailed stack trace. It's possible this should be pointing at bug 1712306 instead.
