Improved Text tab in the Text and Font palette

Bug Description

Currently, the text tab in the text tool palette allows
to edit the text in an easier way than directly on the
canvas. Clicking apply applies the modifications to the
text AND the style selected in the Font tab. It would
be great if:
-changes in the Text tab were undoable even before
being applied
-applying while in the Text tab applied only changes to
the text, not the style selected in the Font tab
-modifications in the Text tab took into account the
styles alreaady applied on some words of the block of
text (like writing in bold when adding something after
a word in bold and so on).

I think a rework of the Text and Font palette is
planned. It would be great if it could end up with a
tool as powerful as Scribus story editor for example.

Thank you.
