Bug Description

Every session I've tried, in 17.10 (gnome, gnome classic, gnome wayland, budgie, cinnamon, cinnamon software rending) Hangs the system when I go to log out or shutdown. sometimes it completes sometimes I have to restart lightdm from a tty. but gnome locks the session bus then and a restart is required to fix it. system is ryzen 1600x rx580 on amdgpu. I can't even find to logs, the log file viewer only holds logs since boot no previous boots.

With only one user, if I logout, X hangs -- can't even get a console with ctrl-alt-f3.

Also, if I need to restart X with ctrl-alt-backspace, it hangs.

I am able to ssh into the machine and restart gdm3, and that allows me to log back in.

I added another user to see if I had a problem with a config related to my user. Just adding another user to the system has halted the hangs. I can now logout and restart X without issue.

I am not sure what logs to attach, because I haven't been able to find any indication of a problem other than X hanging.

Forgot to mention that I am running Ubuntu 18.04 using the Gnome X session, but I also tested the Ubuntu X session and Ubuntu Wayland sessions.
