handling of LaTeX formulas

As in the title: straightforward LaTeX formula handling.
At least to the extent it is implemented in XFig.

Or to reformulate the problem: embedding of TeX quality
formulas in the created drawing.

Ideas: *preserve* original LaTeX code for LaTeX export,
let the user choose between MathML and hard-rendered
glyphs in the output SVG.

I completely agree with the previous autor:
a latex mode is necessary and would make inkscape my
prefered tool!

Add another vote. All it seems to need is the same export
option as for EPS - export the text as plain text, rather
than a path.

We now have an extension that renders a Latex formula and
inserts it as a vector object.
