Bug Description

Gnome-shell crashes randomly and causes a black screen for about 1 second. It immediately recovers and one can continue the session without logging in again. This occurs once daily, so it is not yet annoying.

dmesg shows, that the segfault is caused by the spidermonkey library:
[200133.385393] gnome-shell[29344]: segfault at 440000000000 ip 00007f162d78e1c3 sp 00007ffec34850c0 error 4 in libmozjs-24.so.0.0.0[7f162d691000+55e000]

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

Alternatively, you can just do nothing. We automatically collect crash report data on errors.ubuntu.com. And the top crashes affecting the most people should eventually get fixed.

There is no readable backtrace in that crash file, but we can make one...

Please log a new bug using this command from the affected machine where the crash file is:
