black screen when lock. Black screen not able to recover login info to re-enter gnome.

I have this problem with Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti. Driver version 381.22. Ubuntu 16.04, kernel version 4.10.0-33-generic.

Had the same symptoms with the latest 4.10.0 kernel. It seems to have gone away in 4.13
sudo apt-get install linux-image-4.13.0-21
